Happy Tuesday, everyone! I can’t believe that it’s already the second day of November — and in three days, the first ever Sammy Davis Vintage giveaway concludes!
I could have written any old thing here about the giveaway and the fact that you can still enter through November 5th to win one of 21 dresses from my collection … but I decided to SHOW, and not just TELL.
Part of the giveaway entry requirements is to upload a photo of you wearing your favorite style — vintage or not — to the Facebook fan page. I’m happy to share that below is some serious eye candy and style inspiration from some of the giveaway entries. I’m continually impressed by Sammy Davis Vintage followers [that means YOU] and your unique sense of selves and personality. If I could have a photo shoot and invite all of you to model in it, I would!
So without further ado, and because I believe that today is a day for pretty pictures, I present you with style & substance in a [albeit, digital] photograph.
And because I have to promote it!! If you haven’t entered the contest yet, what are you waiting for?! The contest ends midnight on Friday, November 5th — all you need to do is subscribe to my YouTube channel and then upload a pic of you to the fan page with your YouTube username! Winners announced next week … so stoked to mail these dresses all around the COUNTRY!
Have a great day everyone!
xx, SD
I had to kick off these photos with Melissa because it’s just so original and might I add, very Lady Gaga-esque! Melissa has been a long-time supporter of Sammy Davis Vintage and I’m so grateful for her style inspiration — this was a shot of a past Halloween costume. Creepy/sexy!
Sandra looks ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS [yes, reference to the show!] in this vintage dress! Sandra is the curator and seller behind The Witchery Vintage in ONTARIO, CANADA! I think that’s just so cool because she’s finding one-of-a-kind vintage in an entirely different COUNTRY! I have to check out her Etsy shop and find me some fall/winter vintage goodies … thanks so much for entering, Sandra!
Whitney is a new online friend and total DIY/sewing maven inspiration! She lives in a state I’ve ALWAYS wanted to visit [next to Kansas ... I have this weird obsession with going to Topeka!] … OKLAHOMA! She is also the founder of aglanceatmyworld, which is a really informative and fresh YouTube channel on sewing, cooking, home & DIY topics. She recently vlogged about making your own version of Olive Garden potato soup … yum … OH! And her dress above = total yum too. Thanks for entering, Whitney!
One awesome word: BOW TIES! I love how Mariama — who is one of the most RECENT entries to the Sammy Davis Vintage giveaway — is rocking a jean shirt with a bow tie. I LOVE IT! Totally inspired, especially after putting together some of my own menswear looks a few weeks ago! Mariama, we need to keep talking … I have a feeling you are going to be a major style muse of Sammy Davis Vintage ;-) Thanks for entering!
Renee, right, is like the midwest vintage queen. She found me via my Brooklyn friends over at Stuff Hipsters Hate [I think, anyway!] and submitted this picture from a photoshoot with her sister, left. I want to lie in this grass, wearing vintage, and blowing bubbles right.about.now. Thanks for sharing your beauty, Renee!
Orsoyla is stunning here. The hat, the shades, the gold chain straps and the electric blue … characteristics of a stand-out outfit that only the right girl can rock. And she rocks it! Orsoyla, thanks for entering!
My hometown friend and vintage fashion muse/Sammy Davis Vintage model Emily is just DELIGHTFUL. I don’t know how else to describe her, other than that she’s like a big ball of smiles just waiting to happen. I can’t wait to see her over my Thanksgiving holiday … we’re taking some thrifting “field trips” around the state of PA! Emily, thanks so much for entering!
I love the story of how I bet Bethany, above! She’s an amazing photographer based in Philadelphia, PA. Before she transferred schools, she was a student at Temple [my alma mater, go owls!] and as she just told me upon entering this giveaway … it was my inspiration that led her to choose Temple!! I spoke on behalf of my communications school at some of the high school student visits … I guess I really sold people on Temple U! Thank you so much for entering Bethany and for keeping in touch!
Gizelle, right, is wearing such classic Sammy Davis Vintage — bright colors and lots of florals! This was a piece from the summer collection, and she picked it up at a Sammy Davis Vintage sale & event before heading to her home country of ST. LUCIA! for an amazing summer of family, fun and volunteer work. Gizelle, thank you for loving Sammy Davis Vintage and for entering the contest!
When Nicole entered the giveaway, I couldn’t help but exclaim just how GOOD she looks in green! Woah! I’ve never seen green worn so well before. Nicole is obviously super stylish and savvy … and can we talk about that hair? Thanks for entering with such a beautiful picture, Nicole!
Now here’s some serious vintage inspired style: Alexandra and friend look DIVINE and very 60s retro in this party shot! Oh, and we can’t ignore the vodka tonics … love a good drink with a good outfit ;-) Thanks for entering, Alexandra!
Split screen STYLE! I love what Angelina did with her style photo … will have to take note for future Sammy Davis Vintage photo edits. Thanks for entering, Angelina!
It’s about time someone entered with a vintage bike! I just met Gabrielle, the founder & blogger behind the awesome style site Paper Planes & Mary Janes … and after meeting, she immediately entered the contest. I was SO flattered! I can’t not flatter Gaby for the matching-effectiveness of her blue polka dots and the blue bike. Nice going! Hope you win & thank you for entering!!

Hey, I’m having issues loading your website. Only close to 50 percent of this post seems to load, and the remaining is just empty. I’m not quite certain why…. but you may like to find out about it. I’ll check back again later, that could be on my end.
