I feel it’s ok to keep the money , the people in the “ back ( workers ) are suppose to comb through everything , if they are lazy and don’t , then I don’t feel it’s wrong to keep the money. Some people deliberately "gift" money in items. Stuff is gone through before being placed on sales floor. I have unknowingly bought items w/hidden money. If possible, I try to contact donater. If not, I keep it. You forget that those of us low or fixed income NEVER have enough money. Even finding $5 is a Godsend. Buys a gal of gas, milk, a toothbrush, etc. real NEEDS. Stop being so judgmental. If I buy that item and can't find original owner, it's mine. No different than finding a 31 or real coach bag, or good piece of jewelry for cheap

The possibly racist, homophobic, sexist policies of any organization mean you need to report the issue to the proper authorities, not that you have the right to take what you want. The charities and volunteers who are there without pay are trying to help. Even if something seems out of your price range for whatever reason, doesn’t mean they can afford to loose what you take from them. A donation is a gift, a sale is a trade, value for value. I’ve gotten great deals, but couldn’t feel right if I know something has a much higher value than marked, and I will point it out. These are basic human manners., learned in kindergarten by most..

Since this is stealing pure and simple. The folks defending the mentality of this action are making excuses for themselves for stealing from the people this charity benefits. If you have been treated badly, believe an employee is stealing, you complain to management or the proper authorities, you don’t try to convince yourself that stealing evens things out somehow. Thrift stores (not consignment shops ) are mainly worked by volunteers, donating their time to help people in need, and you think it’s ok to steal because you weren’t treated right? Wow. You all are a new type of lowlife

If you actually think this is stealing I'm truly embarrassed for you...
Let's say you find $50 in a coat pocket, are you going to then find the person who previously owned that coat and return it? NO! That person threw the coat away, that means they don't own it anymore. The coat at the thrift store now has a price tag on it (let's say $10). Should it be worth $60 because it's has a hidden $50 bill in it? NO! The store doesn't know that cash is there in the first place and they certainly can't charge you for it. Finders keepers in this case, you are not doing anyone a disservice by taking that money. If you decided to physically steal the coat from the store that would be a different story.

Pull your head out of your bums please.
