Don't know if anyone will ever see this or it will help, but the 60s and prior were a time of tailors.

Women or men would go to a tailor with the latest fashion they wanted copied, and the tailor would make it for them at an incredibly reduced price -- simply because it didn't have the designer name on it.

Theoretically you could do this today and wouldn't need dupes, nor would you have to worry about what size you are or how much money you had, so long as you could pay the tailor.

Because, more or less, the form of clothing hasn't changed much since the 1960s, I think you could easily get away with wearing exact copies of 60s clothes.

You might appear exotic, but I think you'd be very well-dressed exotic.

The thing about the 60s, though, is that there weren't stretchy fabrics. So I think if you really wanted to embrace the silhouettes, you'd have to keep in mind not to use fabrics that can stretch.

I really love your website, it's really cool and a great way to get more knowledge about vintage styles. I'm writing a paper for a fashion class and was wondering where you got your sources or have any recommendations of other sites or articles I should check out.

Thanks!!

Wow! I really loved this article Sammy. You write so well. On top of that i agree with you 101% on how PhotoShop is over used. I TRY not to use PS in my work. I don't slim anyone down... but I will even out the complexion and remove a pimple. LOL.

Also, I love the first dress featured! Modern and vintage.
