Awesome post!! I've read plenty on this topic but the details, reasoning and links are just...awesome! Thank you!!

I do have a question though...how about condition?? If the cutest dress ever has a pinhole in the front should it not be sold or just discounted or do buyers expect that a 70 year old dress might have a pinhole or two? Maybe a nub question but where do you draw the not-sellable line?

Thanks again and I hope I'm not too far behind the post as I'm having a hard time drawing my own line.

Thanks for the article, very insightful, I wonder if you could help me. I have been given a bag of vintage clothes to sell on for a friend. I don't know the history of most of the clothes except what it says on the label. Most are from Harrods / London shops and (knowing the original buyer) were probably extremely expensive at the time of purchase all those years ago! I have no idea where to start when it comes to selling them as I don't really know what they're worth. Where should I start? Thanks :)

Dear friend,
thanks for the interesting information about the vintage dress price.
I have a question for you about the new vintage clothes.
My grantmother has got an italian boutique and she's thinking to closing it because she's getting older.
She opened this boutique more than 30 year ago and beautiful clothes, that We can evaluate as Vintage style clothes today, are still available.
Anyway we wouold like to start with a new adventure on line and organize an online vintage shop.
Most of the dress are evening and cocktail dress (70'-80'-90' style) and I would like to know which could be the value of these beautiful dress.
Thanks
