But once you hit 60, you can pretty much wear whatever the heck you please, because generally, you no longer have to please anyone but your self. You know who you are, what you like, and what makes you smile at yourself in the mirror. That’s far more important to me now than what some random stranger may or may not be thinking about my attire.

Great article! Yes, you wrote it 4 yrs. ago, but it’s just the reference I needed. I’m in my 40s & I just recently fell in love w/ vintage accessories & I purchased quite a lot particularly Gypsy/Bohemian/Victorian handbags with those fabulous silk loop ribbons from various Etsy sellers. Do you have tips/advice to women my age on what type of clothing is best worn with these gorgeously flamboyant handbags?? Thank you.

I love this article! I collect vintage jewelry and remake into more modern styles by adding parts or colors that are modern and stylish today; you can do that with clothing too; just mix with some modern pieces/color combos!

SAMMY! You read my mind. I turn 30 on the 28th of this month and was, well, sort of freaking out because I was thinking, I can’t wear vintage anymore. And, add the fact I’m turning 30 everything was sort of a blur of what should I do?

Now, I just have to find that perfect dress.
