Do you keep flowers out on your deck, herbs in your kitchen, or a few pots of veggies on the porch? Here’s an idea that will help you display your plants at different heights. This will improve the visuals of your display, and can also help the plants in the back row get more sunlight. Repurpose a spring from an old mattress to create a holder for little pots. How? Here are the steps.
The next time you’re out thrift shopping, take a look at old box springs. Within the box spring, you will see cylindrical springs that might be up to a few inches in diameter. Purchase the box spring, and take it home. Next, use a pair of pliers to cut out individual springs. It’s a good idea to wear a pair of work gloves for this step!
Fit a planter inside, and voila! You have a pretty way to add height and variety to your potted garden. You could even paint the pot and the spring in matching colors. Or, decoupage the pot, and paint the spring in a color that complements the colors that you used.
