On Wednesday, August 14th, sequins, style and so much #vintagelove came together at Screaming Mimi’s Vintage to celebrate the legacy of fashion designer Bob Mackie.
I was honored to help plan the vision for this monumental event, in which an original Bob Mackie couture dress from his 1982 runway collection was put on display in the window of Screaming Mimi’s!
Why? Because Bob Mackie believes in giving to receive, which is why that very dress is being given away in the official #givemeamackie Instagram video contest going on now through August 31st.
The party gathered friends, followers and close confidants of Bob Mackie, Screaming Mimi’s and myself to honor the style and substance of Mackie’s vintage and modern collection. All attendees were gifted notebooks designed with Bob Mackie’s sketches, a brand new product of Bob Mackie set for release this fall.
Not only did the event celebrate a new product launch, but also the powerful confidence a woman can have no matter what she wears. Known for dressing divas in sequins and shimmer, Mackie encourages women to “dare to wear” what helps shine their #powerwithin.
It was a privilege to work with the teams of Bob Mackie and Screaming Mimi’s on this event and I hope you enjoy seeing how everything came together! Keep reading after the jump for a photographic peek of the evening’s festivities, attendees and of course, fashion.
