Yesterday, in the usual Sammy-Rush of life, I was …. rushing.
Why? In prep for next week’s Sassy & Sustainable fashion shoot with Darla, I’ve been working out like mad. So yesterday morning, after a four-mile run with Rachel Mount, I decided to head uptown to my local Planet Fitness for another 30 minutes of cardio and abs.
The pursuit of further fitness was the time-stealer that made me rush rush rush for my meeting with friend/photographer/creative-man-bow-tie-wearing-extraordinaire Chris Reed.
So in my state of rushness, I turned to a tried-and-true outfit that I’ve worn in various capacities before.
And yes, I wore heels. Because no matter the temperature, there is always a time & a place for heels.
THE LOOK: Heels in a Rush
THE SHIRT: Urban Outfitters, circa 2006, post-post-holiday $5 sale rack
THE EARRINGS: H&M, circa 2004
THE NECKLACE: Vintage costume pearls, SDV collection
THE SKIRT: Urban Outfitters, circa 2006, post-post-holiday $5 sale rack
THE BELT: Vintage, stolen/”borrowed” from Mama Davis
THE FISHNETS: Christmas ‘09 gift, Mama Davis
THE SHOES: Consignment/gifted Jessica Simpson from Sabrina of anewmode.com
Love that you can see some of my fishnets creeping above my skirt here.
I nabbed this necklace from the SDV collection because I just loved it too much to sell.
These cheap H&M earrings purchased my freshman year of college at the Chestnut Street H&M location [Philly peeps, you know the one I’m talking about across from Liberty Place mall!] have taken me so far re: compliments. Just about everyone says something about them – especially in elevators.
Weird thing about elevators: To kill the awkward silence, people just pay one another compliments. Warranted or not, I like ‘em.
Unfortunately, the weather isn’t quite suitable for just ONE jacket. I wore my Tracey Reese consignment/gifted faux fur jacket as a layer below the one that Chris Reed of Might Like You Better captured here after our coffee date.
The detail of this jacket is exquisite. It’s totally faux fur – but it has double layers, lace, and fish-eye clasps. I heart all of the above.
