HUGE NEWS, READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!
I almost can’t believe that the DAY I make my national television debut is upon us … and arriving fast! My appearance on the Nate Berkus Show airs tomorrow on a station near you … and if you have an interest in how to capture do-it-yourself home decor with a thrifty budget in hand, then this episode is for YOU.
The site’s synopsis of tomorrow’s episode: “Nate introduces two self-proclaimed bargain queens, who share their shopping secrets and face-off in a design battle to see who can furnish and decorate a room for less.”
My fellow thrift-store-and-vintage-loving partner in crime? Miss Robin Wallace of Thrifty Vintage Chic! We put our skills to the test to see who deserved the title of “Thrift Queen.” Watch the episode to find out who takes home the honor … and a special surprise, to boot! HINT: We were just as surprised on set! ;-)
The show airs at different times and on different channels depending on where you live. I’m so blessed to have fans all around the country, and I want you all to have the chance to watch from home or set your DVRs for record! So no matter where you live, whether you are on the west coast, or down south, out midwest or near me in the northeast — check show listings here to get your area’s details. And as a last, but very important, point to make. I would NOT have been chosen to appear on the show without YOUR help. It is thanks to my ever-growing, supportive, kind, smart, creative audience that is YOU that I was able to land this opportunity and represent what I know and love best: how to look and feel your best through fashion and living a positive, driven life.
I promise that as I move forward on my path — both personal and professional — that you will be there with me for EVERY step. I wouldn’t want it any other way! There is no other reason — nor person! — for why I do what I do. In other words: Sammy Davis Vintage only exists for you.
When I stick to the path, I want you to learn and be inspired by it, and when I stray from the path, I want you to let me know! My ears and eyes are open to hear and see what you share, and my heart? It’s only open and glowing at this very moment because of everything you give back to me as readers, fans, and followers. Thank you. ;-)
So tomorrow’s the big day … and hopefully one of many! I’ll see you guys next … on TV!!!

Behind-the-scenes action! Robin and I posing for a picture in the green room after the show, literally ECSTATIC after being on stage with Nate just minutes before.
There is a time and place for everything: And this was DEFINITELY a time to act like an overeager tourist and pose for pictures next to show logos! I hope that in 20 years, my children laugh at this picture with me ;-)
That’s fantastic! Congratulations!!
:) great post … it was a pleasure and I am looking forward to more things like this with you as this year continues to blossom!
I am huge into thrifting for clothes, and in my opinion, the Goodwill stores in So Cal have the best labels. I’m sure I will convince you and my readers of that. I’ve set a 365 day challenge for myself to shop Goodwill only, and my budget is $365. Takes very little money to dress great. Hopefully my challenge has a positive impact on the public.
I’m lovin’ your site, just stumbled upon it.
Congratulations! I just saw you and you looked fabulous. You were wonderful on camera and made your shopping trip so much fun!
Congratulations! I just watched, you both did a great job! Which Goodwill did you go?
Sammy, I read Robin’s site, and I wanted to tell you what a FANTASTIC job you did today on Nate’s show. Also, I LOVE the way you dress! and you are a very pretty young lady :-) Keep up the great work!
Sammy, Denise and I are proud of you. We have a feeling all your hard work will continue grow into great things. You made the Lancaster Newspapers today – that’s bigger than Nate’s show! (just kidding). Keep up the great work.

Am a fellow vintage affectionado. What location of Goodwill did you shop at? I’ve been to several in Manhattan and they all seemed picked over.
Hi, Sammy! I just watched the clips online! You did very well; I’m proud to be a blog reader! I hope this stint of Nate Berkus time opens up more opportunities and doors for you in the upcoming weeks and months.
Your blogger/Twitter friend,

Loved seeing you on the Nate Show! And I was super jealous of the thrift stores in NYC (and I’m guessing the 2nd store was West Elm). Our goodwill in Nashville never has furniture- what a disspaointment!
I am a thrift diva myself! I loved how you arranged the plates on the wall! How did you mount them? Thanks!
where are the bird plates from?
