Week of July 25 – Road Tripping in Vintage Style

There’s no other feeling like letting loose with a few friends by driving through uncharted territory in search of an adventure. And as many of you know, I’ve been collecting your favorite vintage stores across the country to fuel my dream of a cross-country vintage hunting road trip!

And what better way to celebrate this reality-in-the-making than by sharing some of my favorite vintage pieces gathered from the Etsy shops of vintage sellers across the United States?

Traveling gives us the chance to learn something new about another area while also exposing the people of it to the experiences we have to offer. New sights, sounds and smells … all of which make us appreciate home that much more and give us further insight in to the self we are, too.

I curated 12 vintage pieces inspired by cross country adventures for this week’s Shop Finds page.

Take a look at the picks below for some road-trip inspired finds priced to leave enough room in your vintage wallet for gas money!

Week of July 18 – Vintage Back Yard Tea Party

The peak days of summer leave us hungry for spending time with friends and wanting an excuse to plan parties.

I love letting my imagination run free so that I can feel like a 7-year-old again. As children, everything was possible. There was no “im” in possible!

And that’s how the idea of throwing a vintage themed tea party was born. Channeling your inner child is a good way to reflect and share stories with friends, while remembering to live vivaciously in your current endeavors. It’s also a great way to look at how far you’ve come and grown as a person.

Most would say leave the “dress-up” for the children, but I believe having some of these chic, whimsical pieces will really put you in a Peter Pan mind set, and what’s so bad about “Never Never Land” if you look at the fruits of its pleasure as “always always possible” for you?

I curated 12 ideas with the idea of throwing a chic summer back yard bash in VINTAGE style for this week’s Shop Finds page. Take a look at the picks below for your dress-up party inspiration … tea not included!

Week of July 4 – Vintage for the Beach!

I don’t know about you vintage lovers, but I’ve been craving the truly vintage memory of my summer childhoods: Going to the BEACH!

Growing up, my parents gave me a weekly allowance of about $5 to $10 for doing chores around the house and being on my “best behavior.” And from these weekly allowances, I’d hoard away my money those first few weeks of summer until that long-awaited day we left for a family vacation in the “OC” of the East Coast: Ocean City, Maryland.

At the OC, I wasn’t spending my savings on vintage (alas I was too young to know!) but rather the trinkets of vacationing by the sea, like key chains, stickers, jewelry and of course, lots of salt water taffy!

Today I spend my money at the beach wisely and as we all can relate, mostly toward the expenses of simply staying in a hotel room! But when it comes to planning my “beach wardrobe” this year, I definitely want to consider my vintage options before having to pick up a cheap bikini, bag or beach towel upon my arrival.

Wherever you’re beaching this summer, I’ve got 12 pieces of vintage inspiration for your sun-happy vacation!

[etsyid=77025868:I’d love this chevron print as a bathing suit itself! Wear on beach, boardwalk or with a hot summer boy.][etsyid=75543649:Your mother was right: Keep the sun out of your eyes! This wide-brimmed ’40s hat offers chic skincare.][etsyid=75947170:The ’80s does ’40s with this buttercup beauty of stripes & polka dot mixed that’s great for full-figure beach bods.][etsyid=75038203:These crisp white leather huraches can endure the wear & tear of summer as great flats for fall, too. ][etsyid=74538893:White and blue combos flatter the bronzed skin and lightened hair of every summer beach girl.][etsyid=77039556:Full pieces with deep V-necks look hotter than a 2-piece with touches of eye-catching bling chains.][etsyid=71579880:The average towel won’t protect you from beach sand burn — lay down a tribal stripe blanket instead!][etsyid=76290069:The Elton John look of the ’60s looks less cheesy with intricate framework and light blue lenses.] [etsyid=76329518:Stay away from leather, which attracts heat. Opt for straw bags to keep your belongings from melting.][etsyid=75271374:Terrycloth rompers should be the new beach cover-up, offering “wicking” material to dry you fast.][etsyid=76306678:Wayfarers be damned, bug eyes be embraced! Especially in tortoise shell rims for daytime glam.][etsyid=74826696:Two-tone wedges in browns and yellows are guaranteed to match any pattern sundress in your closet.]
