4 Items You Shouldn't Pass Up The Next Time You Are Thrifting (And Reasons Why)

The past few weeks I’ve been share-happy with my many collections on eBay!

I’ve curated plenty! From Wise Owl Necklaces for Hot Wisdom and to sharing why #imbornto Thrift, #imbornto Run and my Birthday Bliss Wishlist … its safe to say I went a little curation-crazy.

So it’s time that I stop being so selfish. It’s time that I step out of the spotlight and let it shine on the many other curators who’ve used their keen eyes and sense of self + style to curate collections worth viewing, following and perhaps, buying from.

So without further ado, here are 5 of my favorite collections trending on eBay now!Want to see what else is trending on eBay? Click here for the updated list of popular collections.

Want to follow me on eBay? Aw, shucks! Click here to follow me and check out my 80+ collections.

Have a beautiful day everyone – and thank you for shining!

Say hi! I’m all over Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.

with love, Sammy

4 Items You Shouldn't Pass Up The Next Time You Are Thrifting (And Reasons Why)

Curator Description: “Power ballads. Teased hair. Leather pants and silk shirts. The ’80s were magical, and we were all under Def Leppard’s spell. Lots of flash, a little substance. Metal but mainstream. These guys never shied away from synthesizers or hairspray. And we loved them anyway. Because who couldn’t use a little sugar sometimes? And who hasn’t needed somebody so bad? Relive heavy metal hysteria with this collection of Def Leppard tunes and collectibles.”

Why It Rocks: Because DUH! It’s Rock of Ages!

This collection dives deep into all-things-Def-Leppard, an ’80s hard rock band that topped the charts and captured the hearts of boys and girls everywhere. T-shirts, limited edition releases and other one-of-a-kind collectibles that scream WE LIVE FOR ROCK ‘N ROLL.

Favorite Collection #2: Bicycle Babe!

4 Items You Shouldn't Pass Up The Next Time You Are Thrifting (And Reasons Why)

Curator Description: “Spring is on its way, and I can’t wait to get back to riding my bicycle! Here are some other bicycles I’m admiring, as well as accessories I have on my wish list.”

Why It Rocks: I’ve been waxing poetic about owning a cute bicycle for years. In NYC it’s a little tough – you do need that durable lock and a good head (not to mention helmet) on your shoulders.

But that day I move to Brooklyn (I feel it coming …) is when I’ll be able to get that mint green bike with a bell, basket and ride it in beautiful bicycle bliss.

Favorite Collection #3: Twist & Shout!

4 Items You Shouldn't Pass Up The Next Time You Are Thrifting (And Reasons Why)

Curator Description: “Well, shake it up, baby, now, (shake it up, baby) Twist and shout (twist and shout) C’mon c’mon c’mon, c’mon baby, now, (c’mon baby) Come on and work it on out (work it on out oooooh!) Well, work it on out (work it on out).”

Why It Rocks: I love “The Twist.” I wish I had learned it in middle school, so we could have had a (reasonably) non-sexy dance to jam out to. I guess the Tootsie Roll wasn’t that bad, though!

This 1960s classic has stood the test of time and undoubtedly will carry over to generations to come. Can you see our children’s children’s children twisting their hips and dipping low in 2150?!

Favorite Collection #4: T Time!

4 Items You Shouldn't Pass Up The Next Time You Are Thrifting (And Reasons Why)

Curator Description: ” ‘I pity the fool.’ That line from Rocky III made Laurence Tureaud—known as Mr. T—famous forever. His verbal jab landed because it came from a man tough enough to back it up. Raised in Chicago projects. Bouncer. Bodyguard. Wrestler. Cancer Survivor. The most lovable A-Team member has become an American icon. It’s more than just his mohawk and machismo. There’s heart there. And humility. So show your love for a true heavyweight with this Mr. T gear.”

Why It Rocks: Mr. T! He’s the man of the hour, every hour, because not only is he strong as sh*t, but he’s inspiring as such, too.

He’s an example of pull-yourself-up-from-your-bootstraps and get busy doing (and not pitying) man. Which is why his most famous line is “I pity the fool.” i.e., if you pity your circumstances, you’re never getting out of them. You fool.

Favorite Collection #5: T-Shirt Wars!

4 Items You Shouldn't Pass Up The Next Time You Are Thrifting (And Reasons Why)

Curator Description: “T-shirts are the best way to express yourself. Whether its your favorite band or your best buddy – every T-shirt in this collection features a portion of the proceeds to Charity. From vintage and beyond, explore and enjoy!”

Why It Rocks: Now that I’m living in California, I get the allure of a cool T-shirt. When the weather is nice every single day, you quickly fall into default design of casual wear with flare. Which is exactly what a well-designed T offers: A funky aesthetic made from comfortable cotton and pull-on-pull-off in one-second-flat structure.

Let the war begin! We can win it, one T-shirt battle at a time.
