Throwing an event for all your friends and family to attend requires a lot of planning before the day. Not only will you have to figure out who you would like to attend and when the event will be held, but also what type of event you are throwing. Settling on the vintage theme is a start, but there are many different events that can take this theme and make for a great experience. This article will guide you through the different vintage themed events that you should try this year.

Vintage Sports Event

Forget sitting in front of the television by yourself to watch the next big soccer match and consider throwing an event that pays tribute to hundreds of years of history that this sport has made. To make it an event to remember, start by:

Decorating with the Theme in Mind

Decorate your home or your backyard with old posters of teams and team flags, for example, or any merchandise you have. This will add to the feel of the event as a whole. After decorating, you will then want to focus on soccer-themed food – take inspiration from Pinterest; you can find fantastic ideas on there, such as cookies that look like the soccer ball.

Find Vintage Clothing

Then, purchase one of the vintage soccer kits available online. Dressing in vintage clothing will help the event to feel unique and will make for fantastic photos. Be sure to check out eBay for a range of choices from different decades.

Little Details Matter

You don’t want to go to all the effort of decorating and dressing in the right clothing to simply crowd around the telly. This isn’t going to feel very vintage at all. Instead you should make a projector so that can so you can stream the football game through your mobile phone. Some sites allow you to watch sports live, so set up a screen in the backyard and invite all your friends and family over to watch the game, all dressed in your vintage gear!

20’s Style Murder Mystery

It’s been 100 years since the roaring ’20s were around, so why not explore the fascinating era by throwing a 20’s style murder mystery? There are some great murder mystery events that are run by external event planners, which will take the stress away of trying to run the event yourself, but it is a lot more fun to do it yourself. Purchase a ‘20s themed murder mystery game pack online and start by deciding which characters your invitees will play. Some games even come with recommendations with what you should wear, but by giving your guests a description before the event, they will be able to get a feel for what they might dress up in. If they are a dancer, then a flapper dress could be perfect, while for a man, they might feel that a three-piece suit is ideal, in contrast to a sweater and shirt.Vintage Themed Events to Try This Year 11

In between the different rounds of the game, serve a three-course dinner and make an entire day of it.

Baby Shower

Everybody wants to have an unforgettable baby shower, so if you are planning a baby shower for yourself or someone else, then a vintage theme could be perfect. You could create an elegant tea party (classic clothing will be perfect for this type of event); hire antique accessories such as cups, plates, and a teapot, and gather all the girls around the table. Decorate the space with flowers and balloons, but step away from the modern and slightly cheesy décor.

  1. Heya. We had a vintage nineteen fifties type event today in order to raise money for Comic Relief. The ladies all came to the event dressed up in red and pink outfits. The men were nerds and Elvis Presley. There were so many folks who were there. We even hired a old style Cadillac car for the event as well. In terms of food we made and served plastic bowls of onion rings and chips. Other hot classic food like burgers and mini hot dogs were served on metal plates.
We then provided the drinks on a vintage tray. Drinks that we served during the event were coffee, tea, lemonade and so on. There was a short oral quiz and a fancy dress competition. It was a great fundraising event in addition. We even had some nice fairy and pink cupcakes on hand to boost our profits overall. I wish that we had baked pink biscuits however. We took lots of photos.
